Message from City Manager, Wayne Shumate

On behalf of the City of Princeton, I want to welcome you to our area!

Located at the Gateway to Four Seasons Country, Princeton serves as the hub of Southern West Virginia with Interstate 77 and US Route 460 providing easy access to all that Princeton has to offer.  Princeton City Council and the City Administration have a dedication to the growth and development of our city as a leading city in this part of the state.  I have worked for the City of Princeton for over 20 years in various capacities and I am glad to have been a part of the cooperative effort toward this growth.  Over the past few years we have acquired over $2,000,000 in federal and state grants for projects including the construction of the Princeton Railroad Museum, East Mercer Street Streetscape Project, Stafford Drive Sidewalks, and many more.

The City of Princeton is committed to providing effective and efficient municipal services to all our citizens and businesses.  Please take a few moments to visit our departments on our website and review our most recent Annual Report listing the many projects that were implemented or completed, as well as ongoing projects.  As you will see, we are proud of our city, what we have accomplished, and what we have planned.

Please explore our community -- online or by visiting our area.  Our city council, city employees, the citizens of Princeton, and the entire business community have invested a tremendous amount of effort in Princeton's future and we would like to share that with you.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like additional information on our community.

                                                  Thanks,

                                                 Wayne Shumate
